Zapdos is dex 145, Electric/Flying, HP 110, speed 120, physical 1.20, special 1.39, defense 85, special defense 90, rarity 5, BST 580, generation 1, legendary. It is not a quiz starter; after acquisition it can start a run with default Thunder Shock.

The Kanto banner’s six five-star species share the base 1.5% band, giving Zapdos a 0.25% chance per ordinary pull outside guarantees. Five-star pity triggers on pull 70 since the last five-star but does not select Zapdos specifically. Normal rift wins pay resources and a bond, not the normal opponent; however, the selected eligible legendary has a 1/512 shiny roll and a defeated shiny Zapdos is captured. Its gacha shiny roll is a separate 1/100 after species selection.

Zapdos can choose special attacks from both Electric and Flying rather than filling every slot with similar bolts. Thunder Shock fires piercing projectiles, Discharge creates a field around the player, and Electro Ball bounces between enemies. On the Flying side, Gust supplies orbiting whirlwinds while Air Slash launches homing blades. These all match Zapdos's stronger special side. For evolution planning, Thunder Shock requires the run's Power card, whereas Discharge requires Armor; neither requirement means buying the permanent shop upgrade.
