Gengar is dex 94, Ghost/Poison, HP 97, speed 124, atk 1.42, physical 1.06, special 1.42, defense 60, special defense 75, rarity 4, BST 500, generation 1. It has no legendary flag and is not a quiz starter; once owned, it can be selected to start a run. Its default attack is Shadow Ball.

The Kanto banner’s 4★ base band is 6.5%, shared by 31 eligible species: about 0.210% per ordinary pull for Gengar, excluding pity and ten-pull guarantees. Five-star pity does not guarantee Gengar. A defeated wild shiny grants its species; the wild spawn roll is 1/4096 when a shiny sprite exists, while the separate gacha shiny roll is 1/100 for eligible species. Defeating a normal Gengar does not automatically unlock it.

Gengar can learn both Sludge and Hex through its Poison and Ghost pools. Sludge poisons targets, while Hex chains between enemies and deals extra damage to poisoned, burned or slowed targets. This suggests poisoning a group before switching to Hex, rather than assuming Hex supplies its own status condition. Both attacks use Gengar's stronger special side, as does its default Shadow Ball. Lick is another eligible Ghost move, but uses physical damage and short melee range instead.
